He was a son of Richard M Hord (Apr 1840-18 Jul 1902) and his wife Mary Jane Towry (c1857-27 May 1931), and was the youngest of their four children the others being:
Bynum Hicks Hord (25 Aug 1882-23 Dec 1971)
Thomas Bolden Hord (10 Mar 1892-08 Dec 1846)
Mary Webber Hord (17 Nov 1897-01 Mar 1972)
He also had 9 half siblings from his father's prior marriages.
(Please note: Hometown records indicate this veteran's middle name was "Wycliff" however his tombstone has been engraved "Ycliff". I believe this memorial should reflect the same as the stone. We family members & genealogists are happy to make notes in our files. Many thanks to findagrave member Jon Verdick for bringing this to my attention.)
