Ebenezer was born in Walpole, Massachusetts, moved to Amherst, Mass before the Revolution, and served under Capt. James Hendrick of Amherst during the war. By 1790, he had moved to Fishkill in Dutchess Co., New York, and then by 1810 to Locke in Cayuga County, New York. He died in Groton, his final residence. He married Eunice Clark and had children: Marie, Ebenezer Jr., Eunice and Abigail.
