FAY CORROUGH DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS
Fay Mills Corrough, 77, Maryville, retired farmer and stockman, died Thursday night at St. Francis Hospital following a lengthy illness.
He was born Sept. 27, 1893, in Malcolm, Ia., the son of the late Samuel and Jennie Coulter Corrough. In 1903 the family moved to Missouri to a farm near Arkoe where Corrough lived until moving to Maryville 10 years ago. He was united in marriage on Mar. 27, 1919 at Maryville, to the former Miss Vera Maye Shipps , who survives.
Mr. Corrough was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Maryville,Seth Ray David Post VFW, American Legion, and WWI Barracks. He was awarded the Purple Heart for service in the Argonne Meuse battle.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Maye Corrough, of the home he is survived by one son, Donald Corrough, Maryville, one daughter, Mrs. William Lusk, Sedalia; five grandchildren, Mrs. Ron Crouse, Dallas, Tex., Craig Corrough, Maryland, John, Mary and David Lusk, Sedalia, one brother, H. Ret Corrough, Maryville and one sister, Mrs. Clifford Brooks, Albany.
Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, Maryville, with the Rev. Howard Judah officiating. Burial will be in the Miriam Cemetery.
The body will lie in state from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the church.
The family will meet friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Price Funeral Home.
