Mrs Clarissa Hall

~ Death Comes to an Old Resident of Fowler After a Short Illness

Mrs Clarissa Hall, widow of George Hall of Fowler, died at 11 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the home of her son, Phineas Hall one mile above Little York village, following an illness of about three weeks, aged 82 years and nine months.

Mrs. Hall was born in the town of Le Ray, Jefferson County, January 11, 1834, the daughter of Phineas and Elizabeth Minnick Stowell and her early life was spent in that town.

After her marriage they located in the Town of Fowler when it was partially a wilderness and they underwent most of the hardships the early settlers were forced to endure.

They lived for many years between Emeryville and Fullerville, but located on the farm where she died many years ago. Mr. Hall died there eighteen years ago and the aged widow had since resided there with her son.

Besides her son, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. David Cummings of Gouverneur; two sisters, Mrs. Seymour Patton of Mexico, Oswego County, and Mrs. James Barney, who resides in Wisconsin and one brother, William Stowell of Fowler. She also leaves 12 grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at Little York at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon and burial will be made in Gulf cemetery near Fullerville.
