Iva Howell
Iva I. Howell, 80, of Burlington died at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born Sept. 3, 1927, in Knox County, Ill. she was the daughter of Raymond James and Lela Forshee Dobson. On March 23, 1947, she married Harold C. Howell in Burlington. He died June 12, 1994.
Mrs. Howell worked at Sylvania Electric Co. and for Smith Auction Service. She was a 1945 graduate of Stronghurst, Ill., High School. She enjoyed collecting Santa Clauses.
Survivors include three brothers, Dale (Ivan) Dobson and Richard E. Dobson, both of Burlington, and Harold Dobson of Galesburg, Ill.; nieces; and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Lunning Chapel, where family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Howell will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Vicki Engelmann officiating. Burial will be in Carman Cemetery, Carman, Ill.
A memorial has been established.
