Mrs. Forsythe died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 1994, at Merritt Plaza Nursing Home following an extended illness.
She was born on July 17, 1901, in Harrison County, a daughter of Dee Augustus Keese and Sallie York Keese . She attended Marshall public schools and married King Hubert Forsythe Sr. in August 1920 in Marshall. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1950. She was a homemaker and had previously worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Phillip McCarty of Kilgore; four grandchildren, Jon Michael Forsythe of Fayetteville, Patty McCarty of Longview, Wanda Forsythe Ungaretti of San Bruno, Calif., and Cynthia Forsythe Durham of San Mateo Calif.; several great-grandchildren including Jon Michael Forsythe Jr. and Kimberly Forsythe; and one daughter-in-law Frances Forsythe of Marshall.
She was also preceded in death by his two sons, Hubert Forsythe in 1986 and Calvin Nelson Forsythe in 1963.
A family hour will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at Sullivan Funeral Home on Travis Street.
