Esther was born on March 15, 1913, in rural Sand Creek to Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Thompson. She married Ralph G. Amundson on Jan, 13, 1932, in Dallas, Wis. Ralph preceded Esther in death on June 6, 1996. Esther enjoyed baking, flowers and gardening.
Esther is survived by four children, Dean (Helen) Amundson of Blair, Wayne Amundson of Tomah, Yvonne Amundson of St. Paul, Minn., and David (Sharyn) Amundson of Onalaska; a granddaughter, Rachael Amundson of Denver, Colo.
In addition to her parents and husband, Esther was preceded in death by a son, Roger; three brothers, Harry, Palmer and Raymond Thompson; a sister, Mabel Berg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pigeon Falls, with burial in the church cemetery. Pastor Dale Moe will officiate. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service.
