She was born 1887 in New Mexico and married William E. Curtis from Missouri. They moved to Orchard, Delta, Colorado where they raised their children Hazel, Arthur, Carl, Howard and James. William was still alive in 1920 running his farm, but died before 1930. At that point the family moved to the Durango area. In 1929 Arthur married a woman named Margaret and in 1930 he was a repair man at a garage in Durango, living on 6th Avenue. Emma and at least son James had also moved to the Durango area where she died in 1929. Her funeral was handled by Hood Mortuary.
