John Shaw, Sr., age 63 years, died at a Hastings hospital and was buried last Friday from Beulah church (sic), near Mt. Clare. Deceased had been operated on for gall stones, his death resulting a few days afterward. Mr. Shaw had been a resident in the Mt. Clare neighborhood some 25 to 30 years, his farm being one mile south of that town. There survive a wife, three married daughters, Mrs. Wm. Adams, Mrs. Dan Norwood, and Mrs. Schlupke, and Rose, teaching school at home. Three sons, Wm. and Frank, farmers near Mt. Clare, and John who has served as clerk at the Stein store in Hastings for a number of years.
