Emmett Minton

MINTON, Emmett L. 87 of Dayton passed away on Feb. 18, 2004 at Oak Creek Terrace with his family by his side. He was born March 19, 1916 in Thorntown, IN the son of Arthur and Sarah (Blount) Minton. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Samuel and Preston Minton and sisters Gladys May Howard and Permelia Jane Minton. Survivors include his wife Mary Jane (Levacy) Minton whom he married on June 13, 1959; children Lawrence Edward Minton, Lawrence Eugene Minton, Clyde Dillman, Lucille Minton and Karen LaRue Daniel; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers Elbert (Nita), Chester (Betty) and Paul Minton; sisters Lois Audas and Violet McFarland; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends. Funeral services will be Mon., Feb. 23, 2004 at 10:00 AM at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia, Ohio 45385 with Rev. Ron Swiger officiating. The family will receive friends on Sun. from 2 to 4 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens. Mr. Minton's family would like to extend their warmest thanks to the staff at Oak Creek Terrace for the devoted care they gave. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc., The Laurelwood, 3797 Summit Glen Dr., Suite 100, Dayton, Ohio 45449.
