Harriet Smith was married to Dr. Hiram Blackmon son of Samuel (3) Blackman, on June 18, 1822. He was was born Dec. 28, 1797, and died Feb. 8, 1838. He was a regular physician and surgeon, and practiced at Hammond, St. Lawrence county. He was a good citizen and highly respected.
Together than had five children: Frederick W.A., Anastasia, Gerard, Kate, George Smith.

After the death of first husband Hiram Blackmon (son of Samuel), Harriet re-married Eleazer Blackmon whose first wife Almira was a daughter of Samuel; hence children with the same surname, but different fathers. Harriet's second marriage was to her sister-in-law's husband after the deaths of the first spouses. Harriet and Eleazer lived in Lancaster, Erie Co., New York
