Sarah Frances "Sadie" Guthrie, 85, of Freedom, died Saturday at a hospital in Long Beach, California while visiting her daughter, Jean Cordia Baker. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Freedom Christian Church. Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery under the direction of Hill Funeral Home. She and her late husband, James Earnest Guthrie, were well known early day settlers in Freedom. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Maud Nellie Reily. In addition to her daughter, she is survived by her sisters, Lizzie Catherine Carver of Freedom and Myrtle Jane McFadden of Corona, California; and three grandsons.
