Misty L. (Rich) Alley of Butte died Thursday in a Missoula hospital following a valiant battle with cancer.
Her tremendous sense of humor and infectious laugh and smile gifted all who knew and loved her right to the very end. Because of her strength and courage, she will always be our hero.
Misty was born in Butte on May 13, 1981, to Tony and Kim (Hendrixson) Rich. She attended Butte schools and graduated from Butte High. Misty and Kevin J. Alley were married April 29, 2000, in Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, and in the midst of their battle with her cancer were blessed with a son, Anthony Alley.
Misty is survived by her husband, Kevin Alley; son, Tony; mother, Kim Rich and Jim Petritz; sister, Sheena; grandparents, Wayne and Jackie Hendrixson and Beverly Rich and Fred Juarez, all of Butte; great-grandmother, Rosalie Brost of Glasgow; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jim and Nancy Alley of Whitehall; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Karen Alley and their son, Ryan, of Whitehall; Kevin's grandmother, Leona Tice of Denver; her aunts and uncles, Lisa Hendrixson, Tana and Bren Petersen, Beverly and Dean Gransbery, Ken and Christine Rich, Joe and Jennifer Rich; and her cousins, Gabriella Gransbery, Alexa and Sydney Rich.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tony Rich, who died in 1994, and her grandfather, Joe Rich, who died in 1999.
Visitation for Misty will begin at 4 p.m. Monday in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home. Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday in Gloria Dei Lutheran Church with Pastor Phil Wold officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
