She was Amanda Melvina Worsham, born in Virginia, married Joseph Worsham, who died in East Tennessee in 1834.

Amanda Melvina Worsham (nee Lewis)was mother to Caroline Worsham, David Radford Worsham, and Peter Ragan Worsham. The surname was variously spelled WORSHAM, WASHAM, and WARSHAM.

All three children married and died in Missouri. David died in Wright County, Mo. Peter Ragan died in Mountain Grove, Missouri. And Caroline, my great great grandmother, died in Springfield, Mo. Between the 1900 and 1910 U.S. censuses. To this day, I have been unable to find proof of the date of her death and place of burial. I have her mother's tombstone photo (thank you), and her elder son, John Radford Augustus Hacker, has a big tombstone in Greenlawn Cemetery in Springfield where he died in 1911.

Caroline was born in July 1823 in Washington County, Virginia. She married Jacob Hacker on April 23, 1845, in Monroe County, Tennessee. They moved to the Springfield, Mo. area where they raised their children: John Radford Hacker, Christopher Columbus Hacker and Joseph Upton Hacker.

The 1900 Federal census shows Caroline, age 76, living with her son, John Radford Hacker, age 53, and his family in North Campbell Township, Springfield, Mo.

Caroline does not appear in the 1910 census, so I assume that she died between 1900 and 1910. Her maiden name sometimes was spelled "Worsham," and she had a brother, David Radford Worsham, living in Wright County, Missouri in her later years.
