Russell Hawkins

Russell V. Hawkins, 75, of 2142 Michigan Ave., a retired steelworker, died this morning at 4:22 at City Hospital after a two - month illness. A native of Beloit, he was born June 28, 1898, a son of James S. and Mary Gwynn Hawkins. He had resided in this area most of his lifetime. Mr. Hawkins was retired from the Crucible Steel Division of Colt Industries in Midland, where he had worked as a turn foreman in the Heat Treat and Cold Rod Departments. He was a member of the Boyce United Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow, the former Margaret L. Campbell, whom he married July 30, 1919; a son, Robert E. Hawkins, at home, and a sister, Mrs. William K. (Dorothy) Falkenstine of Fairmont, W.Va. Services will be conducted Monday at 3 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home by the Rev. Paul George. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday night and any time Sunday.
