NATIVE OF BLUFFTON
IS DEAD AT DECATUR
Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Robbins funeral home in Montpelier for Oscar Merville Bevington, 77, a native of Wells county who was discovered dead in his room in the Jarrett building at Montpelier, Saturday afternoon. Burial was in the Fairmount cemetery.
The death of Bevington was discovered by Walter Bannett, of Montpelier. The evidence indicated that the decedent was stricken while he was eating breakfast. The body was lying on the floor of the kitchen near an overturned chair. Death was attributed by the coroner to a heart ailment. He had been in a decling[sic] condition for months and had suffered a paralytic stroke.
Born in Wells county on Feb 8, 1868, he was the son of Heason[sic-Reason] A. and Katherine[sic-Catharine] Shadle Bevington. He formerly resided near Little Chicago and Warren, and at one time owned a lumber yard at Fairmount.
Survivors include eight daughters, Grace May Grunip, June Ramsey, of Michigan. Mary, Edith, Martha, Evelyn, Ruth and Helen, and five sons, Frederick G., of Muncie. Reason of Connersville, Joseph, of California, O. M. Jr., and Lewis.
