Funeral services for Carrie Russell Woody, 90, of First Street, Crossville, who passed away Aug. 20, 1998, were held Aug. 23 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Woody Cemetery.

She was born Dec. 19, 1907 in Cumberland County, the daughter of Carter and Nancy Shellito Woody. Mrs. Woody was a housewife, and she was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons, Robert Woody and Harry Woody, both of Crossville; five grandchildren:Steve Woody, Sharon Woody Eggenton, Sandra Woody Bensch, Carolyn Conner, and Marilyn Freeman; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Woody; grandson, Sammy Woody; brother, Pose Woody; and sisters, Rena Elmore, Stella Tays and Claudie Cox.

Pallbearers were Steve Eggenton, Billy Bensch, Alan Woody, Joey Freeman, Roscoe Freeman and Dave Conner.
Bro. Rodney Rector officiated. Bilbrey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangments.
