MR. ARMSTRONG, EDINBURG, DIES
Cerebral Hemorrhage Blamed for Death of Fairland Native-Rite Friday.
Bert Earl Armstrong, 59, a resident of the Edinburg community for several years, died at 11:30 o'clock this morning at his home 3 miles east of Edinburg. He had been ill since Sunday. Death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon (CST) at the residence, with burial at Rest Haven cemetery. The body will be moved from the Mutz funeral home to the residence Thursday morning.
He was born in Fairland Sept. 9, 1889, the son of William and Dora Steward Armstrong. On Sept. 8, 1917 he married Nellie Hamner who survives.
Surviving with the wife are the father; three children, Mrs. Vivian Isley, Mrs. Dorothy McKee and Bert Ralph Armstrong; four grandchildren; three brothers, Stewart of Indianapolis, Verle of Indianapolis and Teddy Armstrong of Shelbyville; and four sisters, Mrs. Clyde Crisler and Mrs. Alta Sladel, both of Indianapolis; Mrs. Leoda Sanders of Franklin and Mrs. May Cobler of Bengal.
