A son of the Ex-Congressman Shoots Himself.
The little town of Alexandria, in this county, was aroused yesterday morning when it became known that John W. TIBBATTS had committed suicide. He shot himself with a revolver through the brain. Nothing wrong had been noticed about his condition or his actions. TIBBATTS is from a prominent family and is well known all over Campbell County. He is a nephew of the late Col. James TAYLOR, a prominent and influential citizen of this county. TIBBATTS father was a Colonel in the Mexican War, and was three times a member of Congress ( he was twice a member) from this district. Mrs Lucy TIBBATTS, who resides on West Fourth Street, this city is a divorced wife of the dead man. They have not lived together for several years. The affair took place at the Aspine Hotel, in Alexandria.
