Servcices Slated Saturday
A former livestock buyer, trucker, school teacher during one-room school days and retired farmer, Victor V. Mounsey, 86, of rural Poneto died at 4 a.m. today at Wells Community Hospital. Death followed a stroke and illness of several years.
Mr. Mounsey, a member of Liberty Center United Methodist Church, was born Dec. 31, 1897 in Wells County, a son of James P. and Sarah McNatt Mounsey. His marriage June 5, 1920 in Nottingham Twp. was to Grace Lockwood, who survives.
He served 16 years on the County Council and was Father of the Year in 1965 for Wells County.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Marcella) Egly of Rossville, Mrs. William (Vera) Scott of Bluffton, Mrs. Mona Jean Highlen of Yoder Route 1, Mrs. Michael (Phyllis) Ulmer of Bluffton Route 5, and Mrs. Phil (Karen) Collum of Monroe, Mich.; four sons, Dean L. Mounsey of Poneto, Kay L. Mounsey of Princeton, Ill., Brooks D. and Bill J. Mounsey, both of Fort Wayne; 33 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received after 1 p.m. Friday at Thoma-Rich Funeral Home. Rev. Maurice Grindle will conduct services at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at Warren.
Preferred memorials are to the Liberty Center Untied Methodist Church.
