Nancy June Smart Nancy June Smart left our earthly world April 22, 2008 in the arms of our heavenly father, bound for paradise. Nancy was born March 3, 1933 in San Angelo, Texas to Elbert C. Allen and Fay A. Allen. Nancy grew up during the depression; this helped to build her enduring spirit. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2008 at Cloverdale Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Cloverdale Funeral Home with burial to follow at Cloverdale Memorial Park. Immediately following the Graveside Committal, there will be a reception in Nancy's honor at the Cloverdale Funeral Home Reception Center. Nancy moved to Vale, Ore., where she met and married Dale R. Barnes in 1948. That union produced five loving children; David R. Barnes and wife, Sandi of Boise; Debra F. Wedeven and husband, Tom of Nampa; Steven W. Barnes of Caldwell; Kelly J. Newell and husband, Mike of Nampa; and Joann Williams and husband, Tom of Beaverton, Ore. Nancy was blessed to be a stay at home wife and mother for 21 years. She then went back to school and attained her LPN Nursing license. She worked as a nurse for many years at the local area hospitals and a senior retirement center. Nancy was a wonderfully compassionate nurse, and loved helping people. In 1981 she met and married her loving husband of 27 years Fred W Smart. They lived in Ketchum, Boise, Kuna, and finally Caldwell. Nancy loved to sew and make quilts. She always had multiple projects going. She loved and enjoyed her family deeply. Nancy loved having family get-gathers. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, a total of 37 with two more anticipated. She instilled a deep family commitment in all of us, and was truly an inspiration to all who knew her. It is hard to sum up the life of such a special person in a few column inches. She leaves behind a huge legacy of love, and will be missed by all of us, every day, until we are united in heaven. Nancy leaves behind her loving husband Fred, her children and their spouses, listed above, grandchildren (17) great-grandchildren (20), two sisters, Betty Hartung and Pat Dawkins, both of The Dalles, Ore. and multiple nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her father, mother, grandson, Jason D. Barnes, great-grandson, Isaac Hillsberry, and two brothers-in-law. Nancy has a wonderful loving church family we would all like to thank. We would also like to thank the medical professionals who assisted in her care. Arrangements are under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home.
