He was a native of Lufkin, Tx. and moved to Athens in 1957. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Palmore and step-father, Earl Summy and a brother Larry Palmore.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Athens. He was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin College in Texas and retired from Bowater Paper Mill in 1995 after thirty-eight years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are his wife, Delores Jenkins Palmore, Athens; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Brad Palmore, Crosby, Tx. and Wade and Dianne Palmore, Athens; two granddaughters, Kristi Palmore and Julie Palmore; grandson, Drew Palmore; mother, Rachel Palmore Summy, Lufkin, Tx.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise and Durwood Pickle, Richardson, Tx. and Judy and Tom Martin, Boerne, Tx.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Jerry Smith Funeral Home with Dr. Carlos R. Peterson and Rev. Joe Hunt officiating.
Family and friends will gather at 10 a.m. Thursday at McMinn Memory Gardens for the interment service....
