SANDRA CRAIN MORTON, 59, of Cleveland, MS died Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Funeral Services were at 2 p.m. Friday, October 15, 2004 at the First Baptist Church in Cleveland with Dr. Macklyn Hubbell officiating. Burial followed in North Cleveland Cemetery under the direction of Ray Funeral Home. Visitation was held from 12-1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Morton was born on February 10, 1945 in Tylertown, MS to Cooper W. Crain and Wessie Alford Crain. She was a graduate of Delta State University, where she was a Delta Belle and a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She was employed with the Dept. of Arts and Education as an Administrative Assistant and Co-ordinator of Summer Arts Institute at Delta State University. Survivors include a son, Hoyle Granger, Jr. of Houston, Texas; daughter, Wendy Granger Terry, and her husband Rick, of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Barry Crain, and his wife Gerrie, of Lafayette, LA, Ron Crain, of Cleveland; a sister, Ramona Crain Lewis, and her husband Russ, of McCarley, Mississippi; niece, Courtney Crain of Houston, Texas; and three grandchildren, Hoyle (Tri)) Granger, III and Macy Elizabaeth Granger, both of Memphis, TN, and Parker Jane Deshotels of Houston, Texas. Pallbearers will be Andy Granger, Johnny Kimbrough, Pete Jones, Fred Spain, Don Frye and Dr. Tom Wiggins. Honorary pallbearers are Ray Meeks and Jimmy Peckenpaugh. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Cleveland, MS or the Summer Arts Institute at the Bologna Performing Arts Center at Delta State University in Cleveland, MS.
