Catherine was born 6 Oct 1792 and died 11 May 1861. She came to Texas in 1848 as a Peters Colonist with her 3 children - Philip, Anna, and Melvina.

Philip married Susan Henderson. He and his friend William Stiles were murdered by J. Calvin Guest, husband of Susan's sister, Nancy. Philip's sister Melvina married John Henderson, brother of Susan and Nancy.

William and Philip were the first two burials in what would later become Trees Cemetery.

Two of John and Melvina's childen were moved from Trees Cemetery and buried in what would become Little Bethel Cemetery. Both John and Melvina and other family members are buried in Little Bethel.

Thought you might also like to add the marriage of Katherine's daughter Anna Kimmel to Crawford Trees on 22 July 1846 in Dallas County, Texas. They had the very first marriage license of the county. Crawford Trees became the tenth largest land owner in Dallas County by 1833, according to the Texas Gazetteer. Part of the land near his homeplace in Duncanville was set aside for the Trees Cemetery and is still used for the interment of Trees family members.
