Funeral services were held, Monday afternoon at 2 P. M. in the Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth for Mrs Dick Mulder, of Kanaranzi township who passed away at the Rock Rapids hospital Thursday Dec. 26. The Rev. E. H. Buschman conducted the services. She had been hospitalized for three weeks having suffered a series of strokes and complications.
Mrs. Mulder was the former Jennie Moerke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Moerke and was born on November 25, 1875 in Beerta, Holland. She was united in marriage there with Dick Mulder on June 5, 1897. In 1906 the young couple came to the United States to make their home, living near Lismore for three years and then came to the Ellsworth community where they lived the balance of their lives. Surviving are her husband, Dick Mulder, seven daughters, Winnie, Mrs. Jullo Visker, E11sworth; (Bena) Mrs. Joe C. Hutt; (Gentina) Mrs Joe A. Hutt; both from Estelline, So.Dak.; (Rena) Mrs. George Hering, Sioux Falls, So. Dak.; (Reka) Mrs Abel Leenderts, Ellsworth; (Gertrude) Mrs Roy Streeter, Newark, Ohio and (Minnie) Mrs Leo Muvizhdll, Luverne; one son, John, Ellsworth. Also two brothers, William Moerke, Donnelly, Minn. and Frank, Sioux Falls, S. D. and one sister, Mrs. S. Hymore of Sioux Falls and 25_grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren. Burial was in Grand Prairie cemetery
