From Pickins County, Alabama and enlisted October 3, 1861 as private. Wounded in leg at South Mountain on September 14, 1862 and admitted to Chimbarazo on September 28, 1862. Returned to duty on October 16. Wounded with gunshot wound to right thigh at Chancellorsville May 2-3, 1863 as Corporal and admitted to Hospital #9 on May 9, 1863, transferred to Chimbarazo on June 11 and returned to duty on July 11, 1863. Wounded in skirmishing late December, 1863 and admitted to Hospital #9 on December 25, 1863. Released from Hospital on January 22, 1864 and given 30 day furlough. Present at Andersonville and paroled on May 17, 1865 in Columbus, Mississippi with residence in Pickins County, Alabama. Applied for pension in Scott County, Mississippi in 1900. Died in Marshall County, Mississippi on September 12, 1914 and is buried in the Beauvoir Confederate Cemetery in Biloxi, Mississippi. His widow Henrietta applied for pension in Bolivar County, Mississippi in 1923.
