Mr and Mrs. Burton L. Martin of Brier Hill have received word from the War Department that their son, Pfc Paul T. Martin, 19, has been killed in action in France.

The youth was previously reported missing in action on August 19 of this year. Yesterday the War Department notified his parents that he had been killed in action on that date.

Pfc Martin was born Nov 14, 1924 the son of Mr. and Mrs. Burton L. Martin. He joined the army Aug 19, 1943, exactly one year before he met his death. He was a member of the famous Thunderbird Division, the 43rd, and served in both the Italian and French campaigns.

PFC Martin trained at Camp McLellan and Camp Meade and went overseas Feb 22, 1944. He was sent to Africa and later transferred to Italy and France.

The youth is survived by his parents. He was an only child.
