Interment followed in the Malakoff Cemetery in Malakoff,TX.
Mr. Walters was born July 26, 1929 in Oklahoma City,OK
to Bill and Mariam (Faulkner) Goston and passed away May 1, 1999 in Athens. Previously of Oklahoma, he had lived in Gun Barrel City since 1971 and was a member of the First Baptist Church and Gun Barrel City, Lions Club, and gun barrel city, and gun barrel city Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Walters was the owner of Dairy Queen in Seven Points and Gun Barrel City and former owner of Dairy Queen in Kemp and Maybank. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, Jody Walters of Gun Barrel City; Tony Walters of Paris; Kenneth Howell of College Station; daughters, Rhonda Hamilton of Mustang Oklahoma;
Khristie Strzelecki of Murchison; brothers, Ed Waters of
Rush Springs,OK; Bob Waters of Corpus Christi; Carey Waters
of Yukon, OK; sister, Sue Huffman of Bridgeport, five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
Pallbearers include Howard York, Pete Steward, Bodie Thomtom, John Allen Manning, Robert Manning, Otis Sessions, Ivan Rash, and Jack Salter.
Honorary pallbearers include R W Weir, Bill Manning, Johnny Godwin, and Jerry Boles.
