OBITUARY: Keith Payne
Keith Payne, 85, of Pimento, died at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 1998 in Union Hospital. He was retired from Peabody Coal Co., and was a retired farmer. He was born January 22, 1913, in Blackhawk to Edgar Payne and Sarah J. Sharpe Payne. Survivors include his wife; one daughter and son-in-law of Pimento; one brother Jim Payne of Blackhawk; one grandon of Terre Haute; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Paul Payne and one granddaughter, amy French. He attended Pimento United Methodist Church and was a member of United Mine Workers of America District 11. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Services are 11 a.m. Friday in Mattox-Fidler Farmersburg Chapel, with Pastor Ed Gladish officiating. Burial is in Westlawn Cemetery in Farmersburg. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today.
