Ted was born on April 5, 1944, in Wenatchee to Theodore L. and Irene (Pennington) LeRoy. He was raised in East Wenatchee and attended Grant Elementary, Eastmont Junior High and Eastmont High School.
He worked a variety of jobs including the Texaco station located across from the new Bus Transfer Station, truck driving and commercial fishing off the Oregon Coast. On Aug. 6, 1964, he was married to Lynas J. Cates in East Wenatchee where they have continued to make their home.
In 1973, Ted went to work as a maintainence mechanic for Kawecki Berylco which later became K.B.I. and is now known as K.B. Alloys.
He was a longtime member of the Aluminum, Glass and Brick Workers Union, Local #310.
He loved his motorcycles and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Lynas J. LeRoy, East Wenatchee; one son and his fiancée, Theodore L. LeRoy and Barbara Zaffuto, both of East Wenatchee; one daughter and son-in-law, Samantha and Rawley Harris, East Wenatchee; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mildred Kiehn, Tillamook, OR, Lida and Jim Keck, West Richland and Doris and Tom Doyle, Palisades and two grandchildren, Steffan J. LeRoy and Dominik A. LeRoy, both of East Wenatchee.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Mendenhall in August, his father, Theodore L. LeRoy and his stepfather, Carl Mendenhall.
Commemoration Services will be held at the graveside in Evergreen Memorial Park on Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at 1 p.m. with the Reverend John P. Clark officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.
