Joyce Oleen Poole, 83, of Coolidge, died Monday, August 5, 2019 at Groesbeck LTC. She was born April 3, 1936 to John “Berry” and Ada Lou Pugh in Bashi, Alabama. She married W.D. Poole, Jr. on July 3, 1954. They were married for 50 years.

Joyce and W.D. were blessed with four daughters. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Coolidge, Texas. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Even though she never held a degree or worked in the work force, she held a much harder title. She was a Stay At Home Wife and Mother. She took great pride in the raising of her four daughters, and later in helping with her grandchildren. The relationship she had with her grandchildren was special. Tiffany, her only granddaughter, spent the majority of her summers in Texas with her Granny and Granddaddy. She was very instrumental in helping with the raising of her six grandsons as well as one honorary grandson and their friends who came in and out of her home. She was known as Granny to all their friends.

As time went by, her grandchildren grew up and she was blessed with great-grandchildren, and they too were blessed by her loving and caring nature. Her passion was cooking, cleaning and sewing. Everyone who ever ate at her table loved her Southern style of cooking, especially her homemade biscuits.

Mrs. Poole is survived by four daughters, Deborah Powell and husband, Mike of Grove Hill, Alabama, Judy Jackson and husband, Trice of Hubbard, Texas, Tammy Nash and husband, Scooter of Coolidge, Texas and Angie Allcorn and husband, Wayne of Coolidge, Texas; granddaughter, Tiffany Duke of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; grandsons, Heath Allcorn and wife, Kris of Coolidge, Texas, Drew Jacobs and Brittney Jones of Coolidge, Texas, Logan Allcorn and wife, Angel of Coolidge, Texas, Sam Jackson and wife, Christi of San Antonio, Texas, Dalton Allcorn and Linda Moreno of Bardwell, Texas; honorary grandson, Armando Hernandez of Coolidge, Texas; great-granddaughters, Anna Morgan Duke of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Holly, Abbey and Jade Allcorn, all of Coolidge, Texas, Kyndall Jacobs of Coolidge, Texas and honorary great-granddaughter, Maddie Haney of Coolidge, Texas; two great-grandsons, Jackson Duke of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and L.J.
