Word has been received here of the death of a former Springfield resident, James B. Bookout, Los Angeles, Calif., who died Friday in Beverly Hospital, Montebello, Calif., after a long illness.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Jeanne Reed, Los Angeles; and two brothers, Gene of Garden Grove, Calif., and John Campbell, San Diego, Calif.
The body will be returned to Springfield by Gorman- Scharpf- Abbott for services and burial.

Graveside services for James B. Bookout, 43, Los Angeles, formerly of the Springfield area will be 1 p.m. today in West Finley Cemetery, near Rogersville. The Rev. Hubert Lowes will officiate and services will be directed by Gorman - Scharpf - Abbott.
Mr. Bookout died Friday in Beverly Hospital, Montebello, Calif., after a long illness.
