DIED FENNER- In this township, November 3, 1891, of disease of the kidneys, Calvin Fenner, aged 72 years, 5 months and 25 days.
Calvin Fenner was born in Chautauqua, New York, May 9, 1810. He was married to Elizabeth Wilcox January 17, 1844. To them were born five children, four of whom and his wife survive him.
He came to Iowa to Iowa 1853 and settled in Clayton county near Strawberry Point. He located on his farm in Delaware county in 1858, where he was living at the time of his death. When about 22 years of age he gave his heart to the Saviour, uniting with the M.E. church.
During the past five years he was a great sufferer from kidney disease, and especially the last two months of his life, his suffering was intense. But he bore it all with great fortitude and patience. He expressed his desire, several times, to depart this life and be at rest, saying he felt willing and ready to go."
