Professional Basketball Player. John Thomas Marshall was a professional basketball player for the Rochester Royals (1954-1955, 1956-1957), the Detroit Pistons (1957), and the Cincinnati Royals (1957-1959). Before starting his professional career, he attended Western Kentucky University, where he was a two-time All-American. He was drafted by Rochester in the 1954 NBA draft as the seventh overall pick. After his rookie year, he was drafted into the US Army, causing him to miss the 1955–56 season. He passed away at the age of 93.
