Mrs. Mary I. Green Dies at Home Near Pine Park
Mrs. Mary I. Green, wife of E. G. Green, died at her home near Pine Park at 3:20 o'clock Thursday afternoon after an illness of several years.
Funeral services were held at three this afternoon at Barnett's Creek Baptist Church with interment taking place at the cemetery there. Arrangements were made for the services to be in charge of Rev. WM Davis of Meigs. The following gentlemen acted as pallbearers: Messr Ray Singletary, Milton Colter, Milton Paulk, Mack Stringer, James Fuller and Billy John Barwick.
The deceased was a well known and popular resident of the Pine Park section. She was the former Miss Mary I. Stringer and was born in May 5, 1874, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Stringer.
She was a member of the Pine Park. Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Green is survived by her husband Mr. E.G. Greene, two daughters, Mrs. F.G. Clay and Mrs. S.H .Monroe of this city and by one son, Mr. A.R. Greene of Valdosta. One sister, Mrs. C. S. Barwick and 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren also survive.
Many friends thoughout this section learned of her death yesterday with deep regret and will extend their deepest sympathy to her survivors.
