"Elmer Astell, 81, of Rossville, died at 3:25 p.m. Friday, June 25, 1978, at Home Hospital, Lafayette. He had been ill for several years. Born July 19, 1894, in Broadlands, Ill., he was the son of George Henry and Launa Palmer Astell. He was married Sept. 19, 1913, to Ina Haupt, who survives.
He had lived in Kokomo for 50 years and was the operator of a Marathon station in Kokomo for 23 years. He had lived in Eossville for the last four years.
Surviving with the wife are a son Max E. Astell of Rt. 2, Brookston, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
