J. Henry Barwick, 54, a pioneer resident here, died about 5:30 pm Monday, a short time after his arrival at a local hospital, where he was taken after suffering a heart attack while watching football practice at the high school athletic field.
He moved her from Thomasville , Ga., in 1925, and was one of the first produce and vegetable buyers and brokers in the Glades area.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mattie L. Barwick, two daughters, Mrs. Nina Ruth Hatton and Miss Betty Jo Barwick, both of Pahokee; parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.S. Barwick of Thomasville, Ga., three brothers, Albert and Gene of Pompano, and B.J. of Thomasville, and a grandson, Joe Hatton, 3rd, of here.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Berry's Funeral Home.
