Nadine Johnson, 83, a life long Mooreville and Eddy resident, passed away Thursday morning, May 22, 2008. Graveside services and interment will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 24, at Waco Memorial Park under the direction of Cole Funeral Home, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with the Rev. David Burns officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cole Funeral Home.

Nadine was born in Chilton, Texas, to the late Sam Scott and Ruby Lucille (Pryor) Greer. She attended school in Chilton. On Jan. 22, 1944, she married Milton Amos "Snooks" Johnson in Lott, Texas. From 1964 to 1974, she was employed by Scott and White Hospital as a lab technician. From 1975 to 1978, Handy Dan Home Improvement Store employed her as a switchboard receptionist. Through her life, she was an outdoors person with a green thumb who enjoyed bird watching, cooking and attending estate sales.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Amos, on June 4, 2004; two brothers; and a sister.

Survivors include daughters, Linda Kay Schreiber and husband, John, of Crosby, Jo Ann Crocker and husband, Jerry, of Temple, and Pamela Jane Ellis and husband, Danny, of Eddy; sister, Eloise Frazier, of Waco; grandchildren, Don Schreiber and wife, Cheryn, Steve Schreiber and wife, Chris, and Hollie Moffett and husband, Brad; and great-grandchildren, Donovan Schreiber, Katie Schreiber, Olivia Schreiber and Hannah Moffett.
