HEBER CITY--Funeral services for Irwin T. Thacker, 64, who died in a Salt Lake City nursing home Friday from injuries received in an automobile accident December 7, 1967, will be held Monday 1 p.m. in the Wasatch Stake Center.
Mr. Thacker had been unconscious since the accident happened in the mouth of Provo Canyon.
He was born March 8, 1904, in Daniel (Wasatch County), the son of John and Eliza Winterton Thacker. On September 8, 1930, he married Lorna Simmons in the Salt Lake Temple.
He was an active member of the LDS Church. He served an LDS mission to the Southern States.
Mr. Thacker is survived by his widow of Heber City; four sons and two daughters, Irwin W. Thacker Jr., Orem; Ferrell Thacker and Morris Thacker, Murray; Lee Thacker and Mrs. Richard (Merleen) Skillicorn, both of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Gary (Joleen) Gines, West Jordan; 20 grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters, Ralph Thacker and Horton Thacker, both of Daniel; Fay Thacker, Castle Gate, Carbon County; Mrs. Weldon (Arita) Rigby, Salt Lake City; Mrs. William (Chloe) Slade, Kaysville; Afton Thacker, Heber City and Weston Thacker, Mesa, Arizona.
Friends may call at the Olpin Mortuary, Heber City, tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday prior to services. Burial will be in the Charleston Cemetery.
