Darlene was born March 7, 1932, southwest of Elwood, Neb., to Asa and Ethel (Snyder) Johnson. She attended school in Holbrook, Neb., graduating with the class of 1949 in May. She was united in marriage to Raymond E. Finch, April 15, 1951, at the Baptist Church in McCook, Neb. They lived in California from 1951 - 1955 while Raymond was in the U.S. Navy. Following his discharge, they moved back to Nebraska and Raymond attended college in McCook and Kearney, Neb. In 1959, they moved to Riverton, Neb., where Raymond began teaching. After living in Riverton three years, they moved to Mitchell in 1962. Raymond taught in the Sunflower School until it merged with the Mitchell schools where he taught until 1994. Darlene worked for the Sunflower School and Scottsbluff Physical Therapy several years until she retired in 1994.
She was baptized on July 2, 1939, in the Baptist Church at Holbrook and transferred to the United Methodist Church at Mitchell.
Survivors include sons Craig (Christie) Finch of Centennial, Colo., Brian (Alan) Finch of Denver and her three grandchildren who she was so very proud of Cassandra, Andrew and Anthoney Finch.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband November 20, 2006, and brother Kenneth "Bud" Johnson.
