Lettie V. Cerio, 97, formerly of Hamlin Road, Canastota (Oneida Lake), died Tuesday at the Stonehedge Nursing Home, Chittenango, after being in poor health for several years. She was born on July 3, 1910 in Frankfort, NY, the daughter of Arthur and Emma Perkins Switzer. Lettie spent her early years in Frankfort, later living in Munnsville from 1918 to 1932 where she attended the Stockbridge Valley School. She later moved to Canastota and then Oneida Lake, where she lived most of her life. She loved her pets, fishing, crocheting, and had been an avid reader. Lettie married Anthony Paul Cerio on July 3, 1937 in Canastota. Mr. Cerio died on May 20, 1988. Lettie was also predeceased by two brothers, Virgil Switzer and Frederick Perkins; and a sister, Luella Miller. Survivors: two nephews; several cousins; and special friends, Kathy and Marshall Lamberton of Canastota. Services: 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2008, at St. Agatha's Church, Canastota, where a funeral Mass will be held. Burial, St. Agatha's Cemetery, Canastota. At Lettie's request there will be no calling hours. Arrangements by J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.
