Charlotte Dawn Brening (August 30, 1955 - February 14, 2024)


Charlotte Dawn Brening, age 68, of Keller, Texas, passed away in her sleep on the evening of February 14, 2024.

Charlotte was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved her family and friends, and truly got joy from spending quality time with each one of them.

She was born on Tuesday, August 30, 1955, in Kansas, to A. Neal Reichel and Opal May Mellies Reichel, and grew up with her sister Cherie, brother Joel, and youngest brother Jody. Charlotte lived on a farm near Bison, Kansas while growing up.

Upon marriage to Phillip Brening, the love of her life, she moved to Japan before settling in Fort Worth, Texas.

She graduated from SMU with a Master's degree in Engineering. Charlotte loved her career until she retired from Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control in Grand Prairie, Texas.

She loved being with her grandchildren, spending time with her church family, attending book clubs, and traveling with her husband. Charlotte is survived by her husband Phil Brening; son Nick Brening and daughter-in-law Heather; youngest son Michael Brening and daughter-in-law Camille; granddaughters Hanna, Olivia, Luna, and Saylor; and grandsons Owen and Cross; as well as her two brothers and their family.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and sister.

Charlotte's memorial will be a private family service.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask that any contributions made go to the Multiple Systems Atrophy Coalition.
