Son of Hugh Bare & Polly Koontz Bare. Enlisted in Co. A, 34th North Carolina Infantry, CSA on 1 Aug 1861. Served in several major military battles in the 3rd Army Corps in the Northern Virginia campaign including Gettysburg. My 3rd great grandfather through his son Robert Lee Bare. Grave is marked with a confederate army headstone.
