Professional Football Player. He played at the center and linebacker positions for four seasons (1960 to 1963) in the American Football League with the New York Titans/ Jets. A native of Boston, he was a standout player during his collegiate years at the University of Maine and was inducted into their Athletics Hall of Fame in 1988. During his pro career, he appeared in 43 AFL games. After retiring from football, Ellis worked as a United States Secret Service agent for Vice President Spiro Agnew.
