William F. Bode, 71, of 5627 Virginia, died yesterday at a nursing home at 3433 the Paseo. He was born in Jefferson City, and had lived here 50 years. Mr. Bode was a retired employee of Railway Express Agency. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary E. Bode of the home; three sons, William N. Bode, 9101 W. 101st Terr., Overland Park; Thomas F. Bode, 9008 Western Hills Drive, and Richard Bode, Playa Del Rey, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Sieben, Huntington Beach, Calif., Miss Jacquelyn Bode, Monterrey Park, Calif., and Mrs. Marcia Phillips, Winchester, Ind.; two brothers, Clem Bode, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Vincent Bode, Raleigh, N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Bertille Sterbenz, 6141 Mission, Fairway, and Mrs. Henrietta Coate, Omaha, and 17 grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church; burial in Calvary Cemetery. The rosary will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the McGilley Midtown Chapel, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
