Edna B. Rohrs was born June 11, 1888, at Humboldt, Nebraska and passed from this life on December 24, 1931 at her home south west of Sumner. She was at the time of her death, 43 years, 6 months and 13 days.
On August 15, 1912, she was united in marriage to Paul Eltiste. They resided on a farm near Auburn, Nebraska, until five years ago when they moved to their present home south of Sumner. This union was blessed with five children, four boys and one girl.
Her health had been failing for something like a year but last Wednesday evening she became very seriously ill. On Thursday she seemed to rally somewhat and everyone had hopes of her recovery. Death came however very suddenly at 6:30pm that evening. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Auburn, Nebraska and was always greatly interested in Sunday school and church work.
A kind and loving wife and mother has departed and her place in the home and community will be greatly missed.
She leaves to mourn her untimely departure her husband, Paul Eltiste, the children, Vernon, Leonard, Mary, Dale and Gordon, seven sisters, Mrs. Paul Minor, Mrs. Ellen Hill, Mrs. Mary Black, Pauline, Catherine, Louise and Esther Rohrs, three brothers, Chester, Vern and Frederick Rohrs, her step-mother, Mrs. Fred Rohrs, besides many other relatives and a large circle of friends.
Peace be to her memory. A short funeral service was held at 9:30am Saturday morning at the home before the body was shipped to Auburn, Nebraska for burial.
