==================
The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, February 20, 1890; pg. 3
DIED: - David F. Baker at his home in Nelson, on Saturday, Feb. 15, last, of consumption, aged thirty one years. Mr. Baker was a man of very genial and even temperment (sic), and one who had a great many friends, who deeply regret to thus lose his presence and help at such an early age. He was a carpenter and joiner by trade, and one who always have plenty of work, and was well liked. He was a kind and indulgent husband and father, and no one had ought to say to the contrary.
He was born in Ohio, and came to Nelson Nebraska in the year 1885, where he has since remained. He had been ailing with this disease for some time, having been afflicted with it long ere he landed in this state; but had never been laid up with it until his final sickness, from which he never left his bed.
He leaves a wife and two small children, a boy and a girl, and two brothers in this city to mourn his loss.
He was buried on Sunday last from the Christian Church by the lodge of I.O.O.F. of this place, and also by the Nelson Home Guards of which he had been a member.
