PASSES AWAY
Well-Known Resident Lone Oak
Dies in Local Hospital Wednesday
Mrs. Mattie Payne, 69 years of age, prominent resident of the Lone Oak community for more than three score years, died at a local hospital at 9:30 0'clock Wednesday morning following an operation.
Mrs. Payne was born and reared in Hunt County and resided in the Lone Oak community nearly all her years. She united with the Methodist Church at an early age and lived a consistent Christian life.
She is survived by ten children: Olie {Olive}, Nathan, Cecil, Lena, Locket, Joe, Lester{Luster}, Jimmie, Ivie, and Vera, and also one sister and three brothers. Her husband preceded her in death in 1919.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon from Lone Oak Methodist Church, with interment following in the Hall Cemetery.
