Mrs. Clarice T. Ramey, 66, widow of John Wallace Ramey, 113 Tahoma Road, died at St. Joseph Hospital at 4:25 a.m. Tuesday after a long illness.

She was a former math teacher at Lafayette Senior High School and had retired in January.

She was a native of Eubank, daughter of the late Isaac Elmer and Katherine Herrin Payne.

She was a graduate of Eubank High School, received her B.S. Degree from Georgetown College and her M.S. Degree from the University of Kentucky where she did advanced graduate work.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Bethany Bible Class, Alpha Delta Kappa, Business and Proessional Women's Club, Fayette County Teacher's Association, K.E.A., N.E.A., American Association of University Women, Central Kentucky Women's Club, and was a former president of Night Baptist Women.

She taught school at Eubank prior to coming to Fayette County.

Survived by a daughter, Mrs. William S. (Susan Ramey) Routt, Huntington, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Mary Katherine and Mark William Routt, both of Huntington.

Services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the W.R. Milward Mortuary-Southland by Rev. Reed Polk and Rev. Thomas C. Nix. Casket bearers will be Douglas Johnson,Earl Champion, Dwight Price, William Farnau, Gene Riddell, Tom Martin and Dr. George Wallace.

Burial in Eubank Cemetery.

*She was preceded in death by her sister, Marcella Payne Johnson.
