The marriage of Miss Ellen Leroa McDonald and Mr. Ray Huntley took place Sunday at high noon June 27th at the home of the bride's parents Mr. and Mrs. John McDonald. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Coning of Medford. Miss Edna Huntley a sister of the groom played the wedding march. The bride wore a dress of oriental lace over silk crepe de chine. After the ceremony the bride's mother invited the guests into the dining room where a bountiful dinner was served. Ellen was one of Springdale's most popular young ladies.

Ray and Ellen were blessed with four beautiful children ~ Dessie Nadine, Esther Elizabeth, John Milo and Nolan Leroy.

Ellen had four sisters and two brothers ~ Anna Elizabeth, Mary Lula, Ethel May, Henry Edmond lived only six days, Gladys Faye and Glenford Ercille.

Our Beautiful and Precious Ellen passed away May 15, 1931, she was 37 years, 5 months and 9 days....she died from breast cancer.

She was a "Wonderful" Daughter, Sister, Wife and Mother.

Ellen was at Wichita under the care of a specialist when the end, unexpectedly, yet quietly, came. Her mother only, was with her when she passed away.

She grew to womenhood in Grant County Oklahoma, with the exception of three years when Mr. McDonald moved with his family to Anderson County, Kansas, and then returned to his farm in Oklahoma.

When Ellen passed away Dessie Nadine was 9, Esther Elizabeth, 6, John Milo, 5, and Nolan Leroy, 2.

Ellen gave her heart and life to her Lord in early girlhood and united with the Wesley Methodist Church. Then in the fall of 1925, she with her husband, took their stand with the Church of God at Sunnyside, Oklahoma.

In her last illness and suffering she was always kind, patient, and uncomplaining, manifesting the love of her Saviour, greeting all with a smile that came to see her. She was loyal to her family, her church and her Lord for whom she was always ready to testify of his love and saving grace.

She leaves to mourn her departure, a devoted husband, four children, father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John McDonald, Caldwell, Kansas; one brother Ercille McDonald, four sisters, Mrs. C.S. Shellhammer, Mrs. Frank Ulrey, Medford, Oklahoma; Mrs. Lloyd Courtright and Miss Gladys Faye McDonald and numerous other relatives and host of friends.

She was Loved and Highly respected by all who knew her. This records the passing of one more of the Lord's Jewels from this world to that home our Savior has gone to prepare for those who Love Him.
